A Little Late-Summer Joy, From Morning to Evening
Hey friend,
Late August always leaves me in two moods at once.
I still want cold coffee, homemade ice cream, and refreshing spritzes, but I’m also beginning to crave cinnamon, cozy flavors, and slower afternoons.
So, why choose?
This week’s recipes bring a little something special to all three moments of the day, from your morning coffee ritual to an afternoon treat and a beautiful drink as the evening settles in.
☕ A Better Start to the Day
Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte
A little taste of the coming season, without giving up your iced coffee just yet. This sweet and lightly spiced latte combines espresso, cold milk, and cinnamon dolce syrup for a lovely late-summer coffee break.
If the day is still warm, this sparkling coffee drink is wonderfully refreshing. Smooth cold brew and crisp tonic water come together over ice with a slice of lime.
Buttery, soft, and filled with shredded coconut, this easy loaf cake tastes a little like a summer vacation. Enjoy a slice with coffee or save it for dessert.
Creamy, tangy, and made with only four ingredients, this homemade ice cream has a fresh flavor that keeps it from tasting overly sweet. It is delicious on its own, but I would not say no to a scoop beside that coconut pound cake.
White wine, elderflower syrup, fresh mint, lime, and sparkling mineral water make this light, floral spritz one of my favorite ways to hold on to summer.
This one brings a little piece of the Austrian mountains to your glass. Dry white wine, sparkling water, and aromatic Swiss stone pine liqueur make a crisp spritzer with a wonderfully distinctive alpine character.
For the easiest drink of the evening, simply pour dry vermouth and tonic water over ice and finish it with lime. It is botanical, gently bitter, and wonderfully refreshing.
