August 16th - National Rum Day!

Hey there, friend!

It’s National Rum Day, which feels like the perfect excuse to bring out one of the most versatile bottles on the bar cart.

Rum can be bright and refreshing with lime, rich and cozy with chocolate, or wonderfully dark and moody once Halloween rolls around. So today, I’ve gathered some of my favorite rum recipes for late summer, plus a little taste of what’s waiting for us when the seasons change.

Let’s start with something cold and refreshing.

☀️ Fresh & Fruity Rum Cocktails

Gosling’s Dark and Stormy

Bold, spicy, and wonderfully refreshing, the classic Dark and Stormy combines dark rum with fiery ginger beer and lime. Simple, but so good on a warm summer evening.

Classic Daiquiri

Sometimes the simplest cocktails are the best. Light rum, fresh lime juice, and just enough sweetness make this classic Daiquiri crisp, bright, and beautifully balanced.

Raspberry Daiquiri

Juicy raspberries give the classic Daiquiri a colorful summer twist. It’s fruity, refreshing, and perfect when you want something a little more playful.

Lavender Daiquiri

If you love floral cocktails, try this elegant lavender variation. Rum, citrus, and delicate lavender come together in a beautifully fragrant drink that still feels wonderfully refreshing.

Hemingway Daiquiri

Tart, dry, and a little more complex, the Hemingway Daiquiri combines rum with grapefruit and lime for a refreshing cocktail with plenty of character.

🍪 Something Sweet with Rum

Rum Chocolate Chip Cookies

Crisp chocolate chip cookies with a splash of rum are exactly the kind of grown-up treat I love. Enjoy one alongside your afternoon coffee or save them for a cozy evening treat.

Rum Muffins

These tender golden muffins get an extra brush of rum after baking, giving them even more flavor while keeping everything beautifully moist.

🎃 Save These for Spooky Season

We’re still firmly in summer, but I can already feel Halloween slowly creeping closer.

And rum fits spooky season surprisingly well.

My Kraken Cola Halloween Cocktail is dark, simple, and wonderfully moody, while this Ginger Beer and Spiced Rum creates a dramatic layered effect as the dark Kraken rum slowly sinks through the golden ginger beer.

Definitely two to bookmark for October.

🎄 And When the Cozy Season Arrives...

Rum is just as good once the weather turns cold.

There’s Lumumba Hot Chocolate with Rum for those evenings when only a steaming mug of creamy chocolate will do.

And for the holiday treat box, my Orange Marmalade Truffles combine chocolate, orange, and rum into wonderfully rich little bites.

For now, though, I’m staying with icy glasses, fresh lime, and summer cocktails for as long as possible.

Happy National Rum Day and happy sipping! 🍹

XoXo Nora 🥰
