May is National Strawberry Month
Hello Reader,
May is here, and that means two very happy things in my little kitchen: it is National Strawberry Month, and it is also my birthday month!
So naturally, I thought we should celebrate with strawberries. Lots of them.
Over the next few weeks, I will be sending you a little strawberry sweetness every Tuesday, with fruity recipes for cocktails, desserts, and simple homemade treats that taste like the first sunny days of the season.
Today, we are starting with a recipe I love to keep on hand once strawberries come into season: homemade Strawberry Syrup. It is simple, pretty, and so useful for drinks, desserts, iced tea, lemonade, and cocktails.
And because every good syrup deserves a sparkling little moment, I am also sharing my Strawberry Spritz, made with white wine, bubbles, and that gorgeous strawberry syrup.
Let’s make May a little sweeter, one strawberry recipe at a time.
Strawberry Syrup
This easy three-ingredient Strawberry Simple Syrup is a lovely way to add fresh berry flavor to cocktails, mocktails, lemonade, iced tea, and desserts. It is simple to make, beautiful in the glass, and such a handy little recipe to have ready in the fridge.
Light, fruity, bubbly, and perfect for warmer days, this Strawberry Spritz is a refreshing cocktail made with homemade strawberry syrup and white wine. It is a beautiful drink for spring parties, Mother’s Day, brunch, or a sunny afternoon on the patio.
