Three sweet little reasons to celebrate 🧁

A Sweet Little June Weekend

Hey there, sweet friend!

When life gives you lemons, you make June brighter.

But when June gives you peanut butter cookies, cupcakes, and strawberry shortcake all in the same weekend? Well, then we make room on the dessert table.

From June 12th through June 14th, we have three delicious little food holidays lined up, and they are far too sweet to ignore:

  • June 12: National Peanut Butter Cookie Day
  • June 13: National Cupcake Lover’s Day
  • June 14: National Strawberry Shortcake Day

So today, I’m sending you a small weekend dessert menu: a little peanut butter, a little frosting, a little strawberry sweetness, and of course, one soft citrus-floral cupcake that fits beautifully into our bright June mood.

Ready to bake something cheerful?

June 12: National Peanut Butter Cookie Day

Peanut butter cookies have that perfect salty-sweet magic, don’t they? Cozy, nostalgic, a little rich, and always welcome with a glass of milk or an afternoon coffee.

Here are two favorites to celebrate the day:

🥜 Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cookies

Peanut butter plus chocolate candy pieces? Yes, please. These cookies are colorful, fun, and full of that creamy, crunchy, chocolate-peanut-butter joy.

🥜 Peanut Butter Blossoms

A true classic. Soft peanut butter cookies topped with a chocolate kiss in the center. Simple, sweet, and the kind of cookie that always disappears faster than expected.

June 13: National Cupcake Lover’s Day

Cupcakes always feel like a tiny celebration. They are cheerful, easy to share, and just fancy enough to make an ordinary day feel special.

Here are a few cupcake recipes I would happily bring to the table:

🇺🇸 4th of July Cupcakes

These are perfect if you are already thinking ahead to your red, white, and blue summer celebrations. Sweet, festive, and ready for the holiday table.

☘️ Bailey's Salted Caramel Cupcakes

Rich, indulgent, and wonderfully grown-up, these cupcakes bring together Baileys, salted caramel, and soft cake in the most delicious way.

❣️ Red Velvet Cupcakes Without Buttermilk

No buttermilk? No problem. These red velvet cupcakes are soft, pretty, and still feel wonderfully classic without needing a special trip to the store.

🧡 Orange Lavender Cupcakes

These are the citrusy little beauties I had to include for June. Soft orange cupcakes meet dreamy lavender buttercream, and the whole recipe feels like sunshine and flowers in cupcake form.

They are not lemon, but they absolutely belong in our bright citrus season. Think garden party, afternoon tea, spring-into-summer baking, or one of those “just because I want something pretty” kitchen moments.

June 14: National Strawberry Shortcake Day

And then we arrive at strawberry shortcake day, which feels like summer knocking at the door with a bowl of berries in hand.

If you want the flavor of strawberry shortcake in a cooler, spoonable form, this one is for you:

🍓 Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream

This dreamy dessert combines fresh strawberry flavor, shortbread-style sweetness, and creamy homemade ice cream into one joyful summer spoonful.

It is fruity, creamy, nostalgic, and perfect for warm June days.

So tell me: which one would you choose first?

The peanut butter cookies?
The citrusy lavender cupcakes?
The strawberry shortcake ice cream?

I honestly think this is one of those weekends where making more than one dessert is completely reasonable.

And since we are still in our “When Life Gives You Lemons” June mood, the bright recipes are not stopping here. More lemon bakes, citrusy drinks, golden desserts, and summery little sips are coming your way all month long.

Wishing you the sweetest June weekend, filled with happy ovens, pretty frosting, and maybe one extra cookie just for you.

Sweet hugs,

XoXo Nora
